Sunday April 1st is Palm Sunday. There will be a special program hosted by the
Penttinens and Karppinens.
On Monday April 2nd, join us at 3pm for Easter egg painting. All are welcome.
This month’s Residents Council meeting will be held on Tuesday April 3rd at 11am.
All residents welcome.
On Wednesday April 4th, there will be an Easter craft activity at 2:30pm in the lounge.
On Thursday April 5 we will be showing an Easter video
at 11:30am.
Friday April 6th is Good Friday. There will be an Easter
video at 11:30, and also a special Easter music program
featuring Salme and Reijo Repo.
On Easter Sunday, there will be an Easter video at 10am,
an Easter worship service by the United Church at 11:30am, and also piano music by
Janne at 3pm! Everyone welcome.
On Monday April 9th, Norm Niskanen will entertaining us with some live accordion
music beginning at 2:30pm in the activity lounge. Come sing, dance, tap your toes!

On Wednesday April 11th, join Unto Makinen for an afternoon of singing and
accordion music beginning at 2:30pm.

Wednesday April 11th and Wednesday April 25th are this month's spa days.
Welcome to come and let our volunteers Tuula and Taina pamper you with some nail
care, hand care, etc. at 1:30pm.
On Thursday April 12th, join us at the regular coffee club program to say farewell to
student Marjaana. 2:30pm.
On Saturday April 14th, the men are invited to the 4th floor for a
games afternoon. 3pm in the 4th floor billiards room.
Sunday April 15th marks the beginning of National Volunteer
Week. We are very grateful to the many wonderful volunteers who
help make Suomi-Koti a great place to live and work.
On Sunday April 15th, the Toronto Men’s Choir will be performing in the B2
auditorium. More information will be posted closer to that date; interested residents are
asked to speak to Arja Tolppanen so that we can arrange sufficient volunteer support to
porter residents to the concert.
On Tuesday April 17th, there will be a baby shower for
Helen Kotsalainen. It is a potluck party, and an RSVP is
appreciated so that we can ensure adequate seating. If you
are interested in attending, please let Arja Tolppanen know
by calling 416-421-6719 ext 232.
On Thursday April 19th, there will be a bus outing to a
restaurant (Destination is to be determined at the Residents Council meeting on April 3)
On Friday April 20, there will be a Volunteer
Appreciation dinner party in the B2 auditorium. More
information (as well as a sign up list) will be available in
the volunteer communication book.
Unto and Taina Makinen will be at Suomi-
Koti on Saturday April 21st for an afternoon of singing
and playing beginning at 2:30pm. They will perform and
also lead us in some group singing. Everyone welcome.

On Sunday April 22 nd , the Finlandia Lions will be hosting a “Spring Fling” in the B2
auditorium. Details to be posted closer to that date.
On Sunday April 22nd, there will be a spiritual music program with guests Mirjam
and Raimo Silegren. It will take place in the 7th floor lounge at
3:00 pm.
Thursday April 26 is the date of the monthly birthday party
celebrating all residents born in the month of March. Best
wishes to Kerttu Loschke and Hannele Taubman. The party will
be held in the B2 auditorium at 2:30pm
On Sunday April 29th, Saalem church will be hosting their
monthly "Evening of Good Tidings" in the B2 auditorium at
6pm. We will try to arrange escorts for residents who are
interested in attending.
New: On the 3rd Saturday of each month, there will be a service in the B2 auditorium by
the Laestadian church, after which the children will be visiting the 7th floor to spend
some time with the Nursing Home residents.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fundraising Bowling
event, whether as bowlers or as sponsors! We raised $15,348.55!
