This month’s Residents Council meeting will be held on Friday
March 2 nd at 10am. All residents welcome.
On Saturday March 3rd, Norm Niskanen will entertaining us with some
live accordion music beginning at 2:30pm in the activity lounge. Come
sing, dance, tap your toes! Everyone welcome.
Beginning Sunday March 4th, one of our family members will be
showing Finnish news via internet on our tv in the lounge. This will be
every Sunday at 4pm. Thank you JP!
Wednesday March 7th and Wednesday March 21st are this month's spa
days. Welcome to come and let our volunteers Tuula and Taina pamper
you with some nail care, hand care, etc. at 1:30pm.
Thursday March 8th is International Women's Day. In recognition of
this occasion, you are invited to a "hats on" coffee party at 2:30pm,
including some discussion about Women's Day. Wear a hat if you have
one; If you don't have a hat, there will be some available to borrow.
Also on Thursday March 8th at 6pm, volunteer Melinda will be leading
a game of bingo. Everyone welcome.

Unto and Taina Makinen will be at
Suomi-
Koti on Saturday March 10th for an
afternoon of singing and playing
beginning at 2:30pm. They will perform
and also lead us in some group singing.
Everyone welcome.
On Sunday March 11th, the United Church will hold a worship service
in the activity lounge at 11:30am. All are welcome.
On Monday March 12th, there will be a family
council meeting in the small activity lounge/feeding
room at 2pm. Guests and new members welcome.
(The usual Monday afternoon activity will not be
held on that day.)
On Wednesday March 14th, instead of the regular discussion group
program, there will be an afternoon of accordion music and sing-along
with Unto Mäkinen, beginning at 2:30pm. Welcome.
On Friday March 16th, we will have a party at 2:30 pm to celebrate St.
Patrick's Day/St. Urho's Day, and also to bid farewell to students Hanna
and Elina.
Saturday March 17th is the annual bowling
fundraising event at Thorncliff Bowlerama. We are
still looking for bowlers, as well as for sponsors and
for prize donations. Please contact the activity office
if you are able to help in any of those areas. (Note that
bowlers are asked to raise a minimum of $100 in
sponsorship)
Spectators are welcome. There will be a raffle draw as well as a 50/50
draw, and non-bowlers are welcome to participate in both.

On Sunday March 18th, there is a special Veterans' Program in the B2
auditorium at 6pm. All veterans are welcome.
On Wednesday March 21, we welcome the "Ehatähet" Estonian choir
from Ehatare. They will be performing in the lounge at 2:30pm.
On Saturday March 24th, there will be a spiritual music program with
guests Anita Kuparinen and friends. It will take place in the 7 th floor
lounge at 3:00 pm.
On Sunday March 25th, there will be a spiritual music rating program
(levyraati) led by Arja Tolppanen at 2:30pm.
Also on Sunday March 25th, Saalem church will be hosting their
monthly "Evening of Good Tidings" in the B2 auditorium at 6pm. We
will try to arrange escorts for residents who are interested in attending.
Thursday March 29th is the date of the monthly
birthday party celebrating all residents born in the
month of March. The party will be held in the B2
auditorium at 2:30pm
And finally, Saturday March 31 is the date of Suomi-Koti's Spring
Bazaar. It will take place from 10am to 1pm and will include crafts,
vendors and baked goods in the B2 auditorium and lobby, the $1
clothing and toy sale on the B1 level (or possibly outside if the weather
is great), and also a rummage sale at the back of the building. Please
pass this information forward to anyone who might be interested!
