God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
In the graphic image above, we see that God is
shown symbolically as a “hand” reaching down to
Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Today’s feast of the Holy
Trinity celebrates the many ways in which we have
seen the hand of God in our midst, the many ways
we and our world are held in his loving embrace.
We see God the Father, the maker of these hands.
We experience God the Son, Jesus, whose human
hands have held us and cured us and suffered for us.
We feel God the Spirit, the love and care that we
feel being held in God’s embrace.
May this Holy Trinity help you to experience the
many different ways that God’s hand reaches out to
hold you, to lead you, to point you in the right
direction and to bring you back when you stray
away and to set you on the right path once again.

offer all night adoration of the Holy Eucharist
in Church until NOON on Friday concluding
with Benediction.

Update on <strong>Building</strong> Projects/Repairs
• St. Cecilia School will soon select a Contractor to
work on the Expansion/Improvement project over at
School: to add a new Chapel, Library, Computer
rooms, etc. Preparatory dirt work is completed.
• Parish Life Center Expansion continues to be designed
and developed. Plans are to enlarge the PLC
to include a 24-hour Adoration Chapel, meeting
rooms, new Babysitting Room for Sundays, storage
areas for the parish.
• Sacred Heart Windows: we are making plans to
have all the Stained Glass windows of our church
professionally glazed or encased with a glass protective
cover. This will add to the life of the windows,
improve UVA protection and add insulation.
• New Mausoleum: we entered into a contract with
Acme Marble Company to construct a new mausoleum
on the recently-acquired piece of property behind
the Church. The company plans to begin canvassing
parishioners for a “pre-sell” of mausoleum
crypts in October or November, with construction to
begin soon afterwards. We have very limited burial
space left in our current cemetery/mausoleums.

Let us Pray.
Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world,
hear the humble voices of your children.
The sea of Galilee obeyed your order and
returned to its former quietude; you are
still the Master of land and sea. We live
in the shadow of danger over which we
have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant,
can awake from its seeming lethargy, invade our land and
spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we
turn to you, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies
whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem
to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of
the Sea, our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your
Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common
to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude,
we will walk in the footsteps of Your Divine Son to reach
the Heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits
us. Amen .

“Everything the Father has is mine . . .” John 16:12-15
We live in a world in which the spirit of competition is so
strong that it is difficult for some people to acknowledge that
they are not solely responsible for their achievements. We
can be very presumptuous. Yet the manner in which we
speak, the words and phrases we use, our tone and dialect,
come from the people who raise us, or from teachers who
help us learn another way. People who are successful in business
or sports owe much to the teachers, coaches, teammates,
supervisors and co-workers who helped them on their journey
to success. The intimate, albeit mysterious, union of the
Three Persons of the Holy Trinity, and our union with Jesus,
is reflected in the words of Jesus, “Everything the Father has
is mine; for this reason I told you he will take from what is
mine and declare it to you.” Do we demonstrate in the way
we live that everything we have comes from God, belongs to
God and is intended to be used for ourselves and for others?
Does our life reflect our gratitude to our Triune God for all
that we have, are, and ever will be?
Annual Morning of Reflection for
Eucharist Minister and Lectors
All Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors are invited to attend
an Annual Morning of Reflection to be held on
Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 8:30 – 11:30AM, in the
Sacred Heart Parish Life Center. Robert Klingman will
be the presenter for this morning of reflection. We will
have inspirational talks, some quiet time, coffee and
doughnuts, as well as a review of guidelines and a commissioning.

Gently Worn School Uniforms Needed
“School Uniform Outreach” will continue to collect
and process used uniforms. Various agencies will
distribute the uniforms to the needy children in the
Lafayette Parish Schools. Please bring your children’s
outgrown uniforms to church ASAP and place
them in the “School Uniform Outreach” container provided.
The need is great! We request your help in this Ecumenical
Effort. We need: Size-4-20 and all sizes are needed, shirtsred,
white, navy blue, black and green. Pants/shorts-navy

Spirituality for the Second Half of Life
Jesuit Spirituality Center is hosting a workshop

Life Awareness Retreat Aug. 6-86

The Life Awareness Program will be held at the St. Charles
Center, Diocese in Lake Charles. 2151 Sam Houston
Jones Parkway, Lake Charles, Louisiana. It is for SINGLE
Catholics between the ages of 18-50 contemplating a religious
lifestyle as a priest, sister or brother. The fee is $25 for
the weekend. (Scholarship funds are available) It is a weekend
of prayer, discussion and discerning with the staff, and
