New player invests in germany
j u s t n o w Larsson is taking part in a big
wheat starch project of FRP.CS.GmbH in
Germany.
It is, according to the project manager Jonas
Oskarsson, very unusual that a new player is
stepping into and investing in the starch industry
in Europe.
– Just therefore it is both a unique and
quite exciting project, in which we

and is replacing parts of its machinery park.
Richard Klang is project manager within
consulting for Larsson. He has also designed
and constructed the machines that Larsson
sold to the project.
– The project is divided in several phases
in which Lyckeby Stärkelsen has chosen to
begin with doubling the capacity of receipt
and cleaning of potatoes. Most of the machines
included are already part of Larssons standard
product range so large part of the work
are a supplier to Linde-KCA, a large engineering
agency in Dresden, that is responsible for
the construction.
Previously, the starch industry was only
about consolidations and other changes in
existing companies, but this here is a brand new
plant under construction from the grounds,
says Jonas Oskarsson.

and improve certain parts, first of all a new
vertical elevator, says Richard Klang.
Compared with earlier versions the upgraded
elevator has been executed with a
new belt and has improved performance,
increased durability and lower energy
consumption.

built for FuLlinMen in Heilongjiang in northeastern
China.
Sarah Liu from the Chinese office says that this
is the first wheat starch project for Larsson in the
region.
Larsson shall deliver the main machinery park
and process expertise during the year.
The plant will come on stream next year.

modified starch. The company is expanding and
has therefore ordered hydrocyklones and vacuum
filters for starch modifying from Larsson.

– This will be the most energy efficient plant in
Europe, says Jörgen Larsson at Larsson who is

– I consider it a natural development to produce
more and more energy efficient solutions, he added.

the entire production line from receipt of raw
material to drying and starch modifying. This is
Larsson’s first starch project in the province.
– We expect that the project shall become an
important referee for us in the future, says Sara
Liu who is project manager at the office in China.

Ding-Xi, where Larsson takes part and delivers
a complete machine line for production of potato
starch, proteins from fruit juice, which otherwise is
considered a waste problem.
– This project is also an important referee for us.
Unfortunately, the project has been delayed for
some time on customer demand, says Sarah Liu.
