record low consumption for
Sahasinwattana Starch Derivatives
o n ly t h e e l e c t r i c a l installations remain
before the new big tapioca starch plant in
Chantaburi in Thailand can be tested and
come on stream in the autumn. Larsson has
delivered all the equipment from receipt of
raw materials to ready starch.
The focus is on minimising the consumption
of water and energy and as you already
know, Larsson is a global leader in this area.
– This is the plant with the lowest energy
4
consumption ever in whose construction we
have participated, if you look at the energy
consumption per kg starch that is produced.
We have laboured a lot for this, says Thomas
Johansson at Larsson, who has been head of
the project together with Jan Hamer.
– It is an honour to be chosen as main provider
of machines and accessories in such a
project, says Jan Hamer and names the parts
for which Larsson has been respon sible:
turnkey plant in Belarus
it b e c a m e c l e a r in April that Larsson shall deliver a complete and
turnkey starch plant to Rogoznitsa Starch Factory in Belarus.
Larsson has been in contact with the client since 2003.
– The delivery includes the complete chain from specimens taking
of the raw material to a ready packed product, and so it is a relatively
big project, says Tomas Nilsson, who is head of the project.
In February Larsson shall have delivered all its products, but the
plant will start production in September 2009.
– It is our first project in Belarus and it is exciting to enter new markets.
Belarus is a country with traditions rich in potatoes and this means
big demand because there is an old fleet of machines that need to be
replaced, continues Tomas.
Larsson also delivers the electrical equipment, control and the automation
and is also responsible for on-site training of the personnel so
that they can rely on the plant.
Photos from the construction of the new plant in
Thailand, to which Larsson, among other things,
has been main provider of machinery and
accessories.
– The deliveries
included root intakes,
division of the
roots, determination of
starch content and dead
weight, transport to warehouse,
cleaning, wet pro cess and construction
of an motor control centre etc.
There was an air of festivity when Larsson signed the contract with Rogoznitsa
Starch Factory in Belarus. Representatives of both parties can be seen on the photo.
