CITY OF DELAWARE 2009-2013 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM Henry Street Pedestrian Crossing Enhancements Description and Purpose: Safety improvements and enhancements to the existing Springfield Branch bike path crossing at Henry Street. Improvements may include pedestrian crossing warning signage mounted on a mast-arm, lighting, brick pavers or stamped concrete crossing, directional signage (using remnant stone from the demolished tunnel), landscape beds, and possibly benches. Department: Engineering Services and Parks & Recreation Fund: Park Impact Fee Improvement Fund (Fund 491) Justification: Improvements are necessary to make the crossing more noticeable and attractive. Improvements should make the crossing utilized more often. This work was originally part of a final phase of the bike path project that was cancelled.
