Taco John’s still has not identified the source of its E. coli outbreak last year. The FDA said that it is close to figuring out how
the outbreak occurred. The FDA and the state of California have matched the DNA strain of the E. coli bacteria with two
environmental samples from dairy farms near a lettuce growing area in California’s Central Valley. The outbreak occurred at
Taco John outlets in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. (Company Release 1/12/07)
