Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen and Del Taco have opened their first dual-branded concept in Mt. Juliet, TN. Both quick-service
chains are owned by Nashville-based Sagittarius Brands. Captain D’s operates more than 600 locations and Del Taco has

Captain D’s Seafood is being sued by Shoney’s franchisee Khalil Elbanna, alleging racial discrimination and unspecified
damages. The suit claims that Captain D’s Seafood refused to approve Elbanna as a franchisee because of his Middle
Eastern ethnicity. A Captain D’s spokesman said he was unfamiliar with the lawsuit. (NRN Daily NewsFax 10/8/07)
