<strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong> <strong>Read<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Program</strong> (<strong>For</strong> <strong>youth</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Grades</strong> 1‐6)<br />
Register to participate start<strong>in</strong>g May 18 th . Check out books from<br />
the <strong>Brillion</strong> Public Library and record your read<strong>in</strong>g m<strong>in</strong>utes on<br />
the Library Log. Br<strong>in</strong>g your log along when you visit the Library.<br />
Every 15 m<strong>in</strong>utes <strong>of</strong> read<strong>in</strong>g will earn you a <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong>. Start<br />
collect<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong>s <strong>in</strong> June. The Library <strong>Music</strong> and Art Store<br />
will open June 8 th . Choose how to spend your <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong>s by<br />
purchas<strong>in</strong>g items from the store or waiv<strong>in</strong>g up to $10 <strong>in</strong> Library<br />
f<strong>in</strong>es from your own account. Tickets to the Renaissance Faire,<br />
The Daniel M Soref Planetarium at the Milwaukee Public Museum and Pizza Hut are available.<br />
Game/Activity programs for <strong>youth</strong> K‐Grade 6<br />
Participate <strong>in</strong> a monthly gam<strong>in</strong>g even<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>Program</strong>s for <strong>youth</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Grades</strong> 3‐6<br />
Participate <strong>in</strong> a Day Camp July 20‐23 from 1‐4 p.m.<br />
Registration required. Br<strong>in</strong>g along a blank t‐shirt to the camp!<br />
Camp will <strong>in</strong>clude a writ<strong>in</strong>g/newspaper sem<strong>in</strong>ar with Chris Havel;<br />
dance session ; scrapbook<strong>in</strong>g sem<strong>in</strong>ar; and music and art sessions.<br />
There will be games, refreshments, and take home crafts. Size is<br />
limited! Register by July 1 st to participate.<br />
Wiscons<strong>in</strong> Timber Rattlers <strong>Read<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Program</strong><br />
(<strong>For</strong> <strong>youth</strong> <strong>in</strong> K<strong>in</strong>dergarten through Grade 5)<br />
<strong>Program</strong> runs from June 29th until July 24th.<br />
Youth sign up, check out and read Library<br />
books for one hour each week to reach their base.<br />
Receive a prize each week with the prize the 4th week be<strong>in</strong>g<br />
a ticket to the Timber Rattlers' Game on Sunday,<br />
August 16 th at 1:05 p.m. Family members can purchase<br />
additional tickets at a cost <strong>of</strong> $6.50 per ticket for this<br />
special <strong>Brillion</strong> Game. M<strong>in</strong>utes read count for the <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong>s<br />
program.
<strong>Program</strong>s for young adults<br />
(Youth 12 and up)<br />
July 8 2-4 p.m. Henna Body Art with Amy Wilde (registration required- limited to 30 participants)<br />
Learn about henna tattoo<strong>in</strong>g, its traditions and uses. Workshop will end with<br />
participants us<strong>in</strong>g the henna to draw their own tattoos.<br />
Wii Gam<strong>in</strong>g Compete <strong>in</strong> a Library Wii championship. Champions will be crowned <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Areas: bowl<strong>in</strong>g, box<strong>in</strong>g, Mario Smash Brothers, Guitar Hero, and Mario Kart. A valid<br />
Library card is required to participate. W<strong>in</strong>ners <strong>of</strong> the completion will participate <strong>in</strong> a<br />
MCLS System Wii tournament to be held <strong>in</strong> October<br />
Battle <strong>of</strong> the Books Be a part <strong>of</strong> a team <strong>of</strong> readers who test their knowledge <strong>of</strong> 8 selected books aga<strong>in</strong>st<br />
5 other teams from MCLS Libraries. Competition will be on September 9 th at Silver<br />
Lake College. Practices are held throughout the summer. Let us know if you would<br />
like to a be part <strong>of</strong> this team.<br />
Go on a cello hunt!<br />
Between June 8 th and June 29, a cello poster will grace the w<strong>in</strong>dows <strong>of</strong> area<br />
bus<strong>in</strong>esses. Pick up a form at the library and start hunt<strong>in</strong>g for cellos. W<strong>in</strong>ners<br />
will be announced at the July 1 st family program.<br />
Solve our Creative Person <strong>of</strong> the Week<br />
Each week throughout the summer the Library will post a picture <strong>of</strong> a creative <strong>in</strong>dividual. Figure out who<br />
the <strong>in</strong>dividual is and receive a <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Note</strong>. June will feature artists; July will feature composers; and<br />
August will feature Writers. Clues will be posted around the library.<br />
CREATE ART WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS CONTEST<br />
(Open to <strong>youth</strong> <strong>of</strong> all ages)<br />
Youth <strong>of</strong> all ages are <strong>in</strong>vited to participate <strong>in</strong> the<br />
“Create art with recycled materials” contest.<br />
Details will be available at the Library <strong>in</strong> June.<br />
The public will judge the art.

Youth <strong>of</strong> all ages are <strong>in</strong>vited to participate <strong>in</strong> the <strong>Brillion</strong> Public<br />
Library’s Talent Contest. Share your talent as an <strong>in</strong>dividual or as a<br />
group perform<strong>in</strong>g up to 3 m<strong>in</strong>utes worth <strong>of</strong> time. Talent may consist<br />
<strong>of</strong> s<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g, danc<strong>in</strong>g, recit<strong>in</strong>g, act<strong>in</strong>g, or a comb<strong>in</strong>ation or any other<br />
creative outlet you may possess. Performances will be judged by a<br />
panel <strong>of</strong> local judges. Please fill out entry form and return by July<br />
27 th . Competition will take place at 1:30 p.m. on August 5th.
