botany <strong>the</strong> Frenchman A. Defters made an excursion 2<br />

to Yemen <strong>in</strong> 1887. O<strong>the</strong>r botanical excursions from Aden<br />

to <strong>the</strong> north of <strong>the</strong> Turkish frontier, and eastward to<br />

Dath<strong>in</strong>a, were made subsequently by <strong>the</strong> same explorer, who<br />

reported his results <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Revue d'Egypte.<br />

Eduard Glaser's third expedition, October, 1887, to September,<br />

1888, was still<br />

richer <strong>in</strong> epigraphical results than his<br />

first two — richer <strong>in</strong> fact than all former ones put toge<strong>the</strong>r,<br />

D. A. Miiller <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Wiener Zeitschrift fur Kunde des Morgetilandes, and<br />

Hommel [facsimiles of <strong>the</strong> larger of <strong>the</strong>se <strong>in</strong>scriptions] <strong>in</strong> his Sudarabische<br />

Chrestomathie.<br />
