National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Society Limited<br />

by the Financial Services Authority. FSA registration<br />

number 117664.<br />

About our general <strong>insurance</strong> services<br />

We provide information and advice solely on NFU Mutual<br />

products. We <strong>of</strong>fer both advised and non-advised sales<br />

depending upon the requirements <strong>of</strong> our cus<strong>to</strong>mers.<br />

• Advised Sales<br />

Where you require advice we will assess <strong>your</strong> demands,<br />

needs and suitability for the product we are <strong>of</strong>fering.<br />

Where you have received a recommendation, the Demands<br />

and Needs statement in <strong>your</strong> policy documents will say so.<br />

• Non Advised Sales<br />

We will provide you with information on the product for you<br />

<strong>to</strong> make <strong>your</strong> choice about how <strong>to</strong> proceed. We will not<br />

make a recommendation <strong>to</strong> you. Where you have not<br />

received a recommendation, the Demands and Needs<br />

statement in <strong>your</strong> policy documents will say so.<br />

For both advised and non advised sales, we will explain the<br />

options available <strong>to</strong> you and answer questions you may<br />

have on the cover, benefits, exclusions and limitations <strong>of</strong><br />

the policy.<br />

When placing cover with NFU Mutual, we will be acting on<br />

<strong>your</strong> behalf. When confirming cover with you, we will be<br />

acting on behalf <strong>of</strong> NFU Mutual.<br />

About our life <strong>insurance</strong> services<br />

If you require advice on life, pensions and investments<br />

products we can introduce you <strong>to</strong> an NFU Mutual Financial<br />

Consultant who can carry out a financial planning review<br />

with you.<br />

What will I have <strong>to</strong> pay for <strong>your</strong> services?<br />

You will not be charged a fee for our services.<br />

Our remuneration for services <strong>to</strong> <strong>Commercial</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>mers<br />

We will be receiving a commission payment from NFU<br />

Mutual with whom the <strong>insurance</strong> is placed. This amount will<br />

be calculated as a percentage <strong>of</strong> the <strong>insurance</strong> premium<br />

and the percentage has been contractually agreed with NFU<br />

Mutual.<br />

You are entitled at any <strong>time</strong>, <strong>to</strong> request information<br />

regarding any commission which we have received as a<br />

result <strong>of</strong> placing <strong>your</strong> <strong>insurance</strong>.<br />

What do I do if I want <strong>to</strong> complain?<br />

NFU Mutual strives <strong>to</strong> provide its cus<strong>to</strong>mers with the highest<br />

level <strong>of</strong> service. If you wish <strong>to</strong> make comments <strong>of</strong> any kind<br />

about our service please contact N J Bent at the above<br />

If you are not satisfied with the way we have dealt<br />

with <strong>your</strong> complaint, please write <strong>to</strong>:<br />

Am I entitled <strong>to</strong> compensation?<br />

NFU Mutual is covered by the Financial Services<br />

Compensation Scheme (FSCS), which means that<br />

you may be entitled <strong>to</strong> compensation from the<br />

Scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This<br />

depends on the type <strong>of</strong> policy you have and the<br />

circumstances <strong>of</strong> the claim.<br />
