Confirmation Sampling Results: Four Corners collected 12 soil samples from the Salt River Biodiesel
Release area on September 24, 2012.
Volatile Organic Compounds - Analytical results are summarized in Table 1, Volatile Organic Compounds,
Attachment C. Analyses of cleanup confirmation samples using EPA Method 8260B did not report
concentrations of VOCs above applicable Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ)
residential Soil Remediation Levels (rSRLs), and reporting limits (RLs) and method detection limits
(MDLs) were below rSRLs.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons - Analytical results are summarized in Table 2, Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons, Attachment C. Analysis of the roadway samples for TPHs using ADEQ Method 8015AZ
R.1 detected C10-C22 DRO and C22-C32 ORO. There are currently no ADEQ rSRLs established for C10-
C22 DRO or C22-C32 ORO.
Analysis of the soil confirmation samples from the excavation zone for TPHs using ADEQ Method
8015AZ R.1 detected C10-C22 DRO in four of the samples, other samples were below laboratory detection
limits. There is currently no ADEQ rSRL established for C10-C22 DRO. C22-C32 ORO was not detected
in the samples above laboratory detection limits.
Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons - Analytical results are summarized in Table 3, Polynuclear Aromatic
Hydrocarbons, Attachment C. Analyses of cleanup confirmation samples using EPA Method 8310 did not
report concentrations of PAHs above applicable rSRLs, and RLs and MDLs were below rSRLs.
Waste Soil Sampling Results: Four Corners collected one composite waste soil sample(12087-WS-01)
from the resulting stockpile on September 25, 2012.
Volatile Organic Compounds - Analytical results are summarized in Table 1. Analysis of the waste soil
sample using Method 8260B for VOCs detected concentrations of 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene and 1,3,5-
trimethylbenzene above the ADEQ rSRLs. Other compounds detected were below applicable ADEQ
rSRLs. However, MDLs for 1,2,3-trichloropropane and vinyl chloride for the waste soil sample exceeded
the ADEQ rSRL
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons - Analytical results are summarized in Table 2. Analysis of the waste soil
sample using ADEQ Method 8015AZ R.1 TPHs detected a concentration C10-C22 DRO. There is
currently no ADEQ rSRL established for C10-C22 DRO. C22-C32 ORO was not detected in the sample
above laboratory detection limits.
Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons - Analytical results are summarized in Table 3. Analysis of the waste
soil sample using Method 8310 for PAHs detected naphthalene at a concentration below the ADEQ rSRLs.
The sample did not contain detectable concentrations of other target analytes.
Total Metals - Analytical results are summarized in Table 4, Total Metals Analytical Data, Attachment C.
Analysis of the waste soil samples for total metals using Method SW 6010B/7471A detected concentrations
of arsenic, barium, chromium, lead, mercury, and silver. Concentrations of metals did not exceed the
