Mermate<br />
News<br />
The Mermates are off to a great start this<br />
season. Our “Spring Fling” was a great<br />
success. Many thanks to Colette Commisso,<br />
Jodi Sowell and the fourteen members<br />
who donated gifts for the auction. All<br />
who attended had a wonderful luncheon.<br />
Allen Farms was a very fitting location<br />
and the food was excellent.<br />
Our next event will be the Fathers<br />
Day Brunch on Sunday, June 15<br />
from 9 am to 12 pm. The Mermates, and<br />
some spouses, will be cooking up a grand<br />
buffet for all. The menu will include:<br />
scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french<br />
toast, potatoes, fresh fruit salad, assorted<br />
breads, juice, coffee and tea. We will also<br />
have a cereal option for kids. The cost is<br />
$12 for adults, $6 for children 4-10, and<br />
ages 3 and under free. Reservations are a<br />

your calendar for Saturday evening,<br />
August 23. The Mermates will be<br />
sponsoring the first ever reunion for our<br />
former juniors. This will be a fundraiser<br />
to add money to the Andrew<br />
Brennan Memorial Fund supporting the<br />
Junior Sailing Center. It should be a<br />
fun evening for all. An auction will<br />
also be held to raise money. More details<br />
will follow as we get into the summer,<br />
but now is the time to start contacting<br />
everyone you know to save the<br />
date.<br />

hope many of you will join us in these<br />
