Interview Guide for Stakeholders<br />
Crime <strong>Prevention</strong> <strong>Ottawa</strong> (CPO) has engaged an <strong>in</strong>dependent consult<strong>in</strong>g firm, PRA Inc., <strong>to</strong><br />
conduct a study on Crime <strong>Prevention</strong> Through Environmental <strong>Design</strong> (CPTED) <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ottawa</strong>. The<br />
focus of the study will be upon develop<strong>in</strong>g a strategy that will facilitate collaboration among<br />
various stakeholders <strong>in</strong> advanc<strong>in</strong>g CPTED <strong>in</strong> the City. The <strong>in</strong>terviews are <strong>in</strong>tended <strong>to</strong> identify the<br />
current state of CPTED <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ottawa</strong> and also <strong>to</strong> ga<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>sight <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> what practices and strategies are<br />
likely <strong>to</strong> be effective <strong>in</strong> advanc<strong>in</strong>g CPTED <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ottawa</strong>.<br />
This <strong>in</strong>terview is confidential and you will not be personally identified <strong>in</strong> any report<strong>in</strong>g. With<br />
your permission, we would like <strong>to</strong> tape-record the <strong>in</strong>terview <strong>to</strong> ensure the accuracy of our notes.<br />
The audiotape will be s<strong>to</strong>red securely and destroyed upon project completion. Please note that<br />
some questions may not be relevant <strong>to</strong> all <strong>in</strong>terviewees.<br />

2. Do you know of any ways <strong>in</strong> which CPTED is currently be<strong>in</strong>g used <strong>to</strong> address<br />
community safety issues <strong>in</strong> new spaces <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ottawa</strong>? (If yes, go <strong>to</strong> #3. If no, go <strong>to</strong> #4.)<br />
3. Please describe the nature and scope of CPTED activity, particularly CPTED audits, <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>Ottawa</strong> dur<strong>in</strong>g the design phase (for new spaces). More specifically, please <strong>in</strong>dicate:<br />
