2012 Gala<br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> held its Third <strong>Annual</strong> Gala Benefit<br />
at The Waldorf=Astoria. Breaking records in both<br />
fundraising <strong>and</strong> attendance, the event raised more than<br />
$2.5 million to help New Yorkers in need—non-<strong>Catholic</strong>s<br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong>s alike. Bob <strong>and</strong> Cindy McCann were honored<br />
for their consistent support of charitable organizations<br />
with a community development or education focus.<br />
Bob is Chief Executive Officer of UBS Group Americas<br />
<strong>and</strong> Cindy is currently pursuing her doctorate at Fordham<br />
University. Firefighter Regina Wilson <strong>and</strong> the New York<br />
Fire Department Emerald Society’s Pipe <strong>and</strong> Drum Corps<br />
performed, as well as stage <strong>and</strong> television actress,<br />
Megan Hilty. Pat Battle, anchor/reporter for NBC 4 New<br />
York, served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The Gala<br />
gathered a vibrant group of New Yorkers with a variety<br />
of backgrounds, from business to religion to fashion,<br />
who all share the common goal of helping their<br />
neighbors in need. The annual event is made possible<br />
by the generous support of the <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong><br />
Board of Trustees <strong>and</strong> members of the Cardinal’s<br />
Committee for Charity <strong>and</strong> the benevolence of the<br />

program, a Resolution of the Board of Trustees was presented<br />
by Edward Cardinal Egan to Rusty Staub, acknowledging <strong>and</strong><br />
thanking him for his continuous <strong>and</strong> generous support of<br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>.<br />
