General Goals
The course aims to develop and reinforce the skills that are compulsory in
the syllabus content and thus enhance creativity through Investigation,
Documentation, Experimentation and Realization.
Art History and Appreciation. Works of art of famous artists to be used to
back up particular techniques or aspects of the above with more emphasis
on particular artists.
First term
Creating a portfolio.
Line.
Shape and Form.
Shading techniques and tonal values. Use of graphite and watercolour
pencils.
Linear two-point perspective.
Still lifes involving natural and/or man-made objects – Looking at line,
shape and form, light and shadow.
Primary and secondary colours.
Warm and cold colours.

Second term
The colour wheel. Use of poster paints.
Tertiary colours.
Tints and Shades. Use of poster paints.
Introducing the project work: [Topic: FRUIT]
Brainstorming process. Visual research. Primary and secondary sources.
Use of different media (at this stage graphite pencils, acquarelli as pencil
colours and with water, and poster paints).
Basic Printing.
More on warm and cold colours.
Still Life.
Third term
Complementary colours.
Work in 3D using clay.
Still Life.
