Jewish Summer Camp Information: Are you<br />

shopping around for a superior Jewish camp<br />

experience for your kids? Have you considered<br />

Ramah? Did you know that our very own Aviva<br />

Millstone is the new Assistant Director? Did you<br />

know that scholarships to Camp Ramah are<br />

available for BT members? We are actively looking<br />

to put BT families on the Ramah roster for this<br />

summer. If you would like to attend an information<br />

session about Ramah, contact Sigal as soon as<br />

possible so we can plan this evening for you.<br />

BT Glee Geschraiyers: If you would like to join the<br />

greatest kids’ ensemble around – don’t delay and<br />

help us make special occasions at BT even better!<br />

Dinner & Dilemmas: Saturday, <strong>January</strong> 19 th<br />

beginning with Havdalah at 6:30pm: Parenting<br />

Your Teen Behind the Screen: Parents, tweens &<br />

teens are invited to join us in a mediated discussion<br />

with Larry Borins, social worker and<br />

psychotherapist, and Rabbi Grover offering the<br />

Jewish perspective as we investigate issues<br />

including video games – how much is too much,<br />

cyber bullying, the role of the internet in today’s<br />

society, how has privacy changed and more. Enjoy<br />

a Chinese food feast for the entire family. Open to<br />

the Community. Concurrent movie program for<br />

younger children will be available upon request.<br />

Cost: Members $30/family (max. 5<br />

people/family), Non‐members $50/family (max. 5<br />

<strong>Tikvah</strong> Tots Winter <strong>2013</strong>: Now with two groups<br />

running simultaneously: one for the kids ages 1‐3<br />

and another for kids ages 4‐6 and their<br />

parents/grandparents. Sing Hebrew songs with<br />

Tibi, big toys, crafts and more. 6 session series on<br />

Sunday morning <strong>January</strong> 6 th – February 10 th from<br />

9:30am – 11:00am in the Gym, Assembly Hall and<br />

Youth Room. Play and crafts led by Karmela Klasner<br />

and Monica Nemani. Ages 4‐6 also enjoy sports and<br />

games with Tibi. A light brunch will be served at the<br />

conclusion of each session. Members: $60/series,<br />

$15/session, Non‐Members $70/series and<br />

$17/session. Contact Helen in the synagogue<br />

office to register.<br />

BETSY KADIMA (Grade 5‐8): Calling all kids in Grades<br />

6‐8 … Don’t miss a fabulous Snow Tubing event at<br />

Horseshoe Resort sponsored by The Canadian<br />

Alliance of <strong>Synagogue</strong>s Youth (CASY). February 9 th<br />

Motzei Shabbat from 6:45pm – 11:45 pm.<br />

BTY (Grades 9‐12): Motzei Shabbat February 2 nd<br />

from 6:45pm – 11:45pm. Travel in style by limo party<br />

bus, lots of food and fun. Trip leaves and returns to<br />

Adath Israel, 37 Southbourne Avenue, <strong>Toronto</strong>. Cost:<br />

$25/person. Space is limited! Register by <strong>January</strong><br />

18 th and be entered into a draw to win two movie<br />

passes. Final RSVP deadline is <strong>January</strong> 28 th .<br />

Havdalah & Ice: Join us on Motzei Shabbat<br />

February 9 th at 7:30pm at Canlan Ice Sports: York<br />

University (989 Murray Ross Parkway). The evening<br />

begins with a special Havdalah service on the ice<br />

followed by 1 hour of private ice time, music, hockey,<br />

snacks and fun for the entire family. Free parking is<br />

available. Skate rental is not available. Helmets and<br />

hockey equipment are welcome. Cost: Members<br />

$7/person, Non‐Members $11/person. Contact Sigal<br />

by February 4 th to reserve.<br />
