TGIS: Thank G‐d It’s Shabbat! Youth Services will take<br />

place this morning from 10:30am – noon. Babysitting (JK<br />

& SK) is in the Youth Room, Beginyan (Grade 1‐3) and<br />

Allstars (Grade (4‐7) are invited to join the YF Service<br />

taking place this morning in the chapel.<br />

<strong>Tikvah</strong> Tots Spring Series Has Begun: For kids (ages 1‐3)<br />

and their families. It is not too late to join us for the<br />

series with sessions running Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 21 st ‐ May<br />

12 th . Sing Hebrew songs with Tibi, big toys, crafts and<br />

more! Play and crafts led by Karmela Klasner and<br />

Monica Nemani. Contact the synagogue office to<br />

register.<br />

Young Family Shabbat Service is taking place this<br />

morning from 10:30am – noon in the Chapel. Special<br />

reserved tables will be available at the Congregational<br />

Kiddush following services. This will be the last YF<br />

Shabbat Service Program for this program year. Shabbat<br />

Shalom to all.<br />

BT Blazers/Halutzim: if you are in grades 1‐4, save the<br />

date and mark your calendars for our Trampoline<br />

Program at the NEW Skyzone <strong>Toronto</strong> on Sunday, May<br />

12 th . Stay tuned for more information coming your way<br />

soon.<br />

Kadima: If you are in grades 5 ‐8 save the date and mark<br />

your calendars for The Amazing Race Limo Scavenger<br />

Hunt on Sunday, May 5 th . We are happy to invite our<br />

Halutzim Seniors (grade 4 only) to participate in this<br />

event. Stay tuned for more information coming your<br />

way soon.<br />

BTY: Do you need community service hours? Want to<br />

do a mitzvah? Join us for the Midnight Run on Saturday<br />

Night taking place tonight from 9:30pm – around<br />

1:30am. Trip leaves from and returns to BT. Participate<br />

for FREE with a Kosher non‐perishable food donation.<br />

Help us deliver food to <strong>Toronto</strong>’s homeless with a stop at<br />

“Just Desserts” on the way back. Security will be<br />

provided. This event is open to Kadima Seniors (grade 8<br />

only). Note: completed waivers which are available on<br />

the BT website are required in order to participate.<br />

Tikkun Leil Shavuot ‐ <strong>2013</strong><br />

On Tuesday, May 14 th , Erev Shavuot, <strong>Beth</strong> <strong>Tikvah</strong> will be<br />

hosting a moderated panel discussion with some of the<br />

community's leading educators, and experts in the field<br />

on the challenges of Jewish Education in <strong>Toronto</strong>.<br />

Dinner will be served at 9:00pm (reservations required),<br />

followed by the Keynote Discussion at 10:00pm. The<br />

Overnight study session with Rabbi Markose will follow,<br />

beginning at midnight, examining Teshuvot (Responsa)<br />

from the Orthodox, Conservative and Reform<br />

Movements, on the subjects of Abortion, Smoking, and<br />

Jewish Attire. More details to follow.<br />

Calling all Youth Grades 6‐12: Save the date and join us for<br />

JServe where you can participate with thousands of teens<br />

across the world for the Global Day of Youth Service.<br />

Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 28 th from 11:30am‐5:00pm at the CHAT<br />

Wallenberg Campus you can take your pick of a variety of<br />

community service projects across the city of <strong>Toronto</strong>.<br />

Earn five hours of community service and help make the<br />

world a better place. Open to kids in Grade 6‐12. For more<br />

information, including a list of available projects or to<br />

register please visit the Jserve website at: www.jserve.ca.<br />

Please note: project registration is on a first come first<br />

served basis; so don’t delay! Contact Sigal or Danielle if<br />

you need further info.<br />

Let’s Celebrate Lag Ba’Omer: Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 28 th , join us<br />

for a fun filled evening featuring a synagogue‐wide BBQ<br />

picnic dinner served at 6:00pm, sports, relay races, card<br />

games, sing‐a‐long and more! The event will take place in<br />

the Kovari backyard and at Silverview Park behind the<br />

house. Cost: Members $10/person, Non‐Members<br />

$15/person, Kids 1 and Under FREE. Contact the<br />

synagogue office by <strong>April</strong> 22 nd to RSVP. Festivities will be<br />

moved to BT in the event of rain. Can’t wait to see you<br />

there!<br />

BAR/BAT MITZVAH PROGRAM: This program was<br />

launched to supplement regular lessons for <strong>2013</strong> Bnei<br />

Mitzvah, and to engage them in synagogue life and Jewish<br />

topics. Bi‐monthly on Shabbat mornings (<strong>April</strong> 27 th ). From<br />

10:45am – 11:45am with the Rabbis, Cantor, Irv<br />

Kirshenblat or Sigal Tuch, who have prepared a special<br />

program for each session. This program will help better<br />

prepare our Bnei Mitzvah, and to make them feel a part of<br />

our community.<br />

URI URI – AWAKE GREET THE DAWN is the theme for the<br />

International Northeast Region (INR) of Women’s League<br />

for Conservative Judaism’s Spring Conference being held at<br />

<strong>Beth</strong> <strong>Tikvah</strong> this Sunday and Monday. We welcome Aliza<br />

Goland (from California), our International Conference<br />

Consultant, to services this morning. Through workshops,<br />

discussions, t’fillot and networking, women from<br />

Conservative sisterhoods in Ontario, Quebec and northern<br />

New York State will gain knowledge and skills to help them<br />

strengthen their own sisterhoods and themselves. We are<br />

so proud of Fran Caine who is completing her two‐year<br />

term as President of our region. Ya’asher Kochacheich for<br />

your dedication and commitment in serving our region.<br />
