Hi Gary,
Thanks for your great effort on the magazine – we all enjoy reading it.
I am a bit dumb and took quite some time to find it on the web-site – at first I could have sworn I’d looked
everywhere and it was missing. I wonder if it might be worth having a link from the home page or rethinking
the menus so dummies like me can find it a bit quicker please.
Regards
(Tom, if you go to www.famm.org.au/home/index.html and then click on AFV Winter 2009 and that should
open the latest edition up for your reading. Ed.)
Gary
Eagerly awaiting next edition of AF&V. Any news on when we might get it?
Regards,
Don Finlay
(Don, if you are reading this then you have already received it. The delay for its release was explained in
my Editorial. Ed.)
Thanks a lot for the latest AF&V, very good reading indeed.
Our March meeting was a non competition night. Members were invited to bring along one of their favourite
five minute productions, from their archive, to show. We viewed a great variety of excellent items and
plan to have another similar enjoyable night later in the year.
Our April meeting had an appropriate Anzac Theme. We welcomed local Producer, Gemma Carol who
showed her excellent documentary "Lest We Forget", featuring War Veterans from the Dunedin Montecillo
War Veterans home. After the screening Gemma answered many questions about the making of her production.
The most difficult task she faced was getting them to open up and talk freely about their war experience.
Our Club Subject competition "Aquarium Visit"" saw the results of our March Club outing, with five good
"fishy" entries. Then we had our ""Own Choice" competition, which had three entries, with a visit to the
2008 Oamaru Heritage festival, a visit to Norfolk Island and one exploring the back country of Otago entitled
"Tackling the Tussock Terrain"! All to a high standard.
Recently our Club was surprised to find excerpts of one of our local copyrighted fund raising videos, is
now on YouTube, with no reference to us....three different uploaders have used our material. At our next
committee meeting we will have to decide if we will put in a copyright complaint to YouTube !
How do you stop anything being copied in this modern age..???
