The Convention Sub-Committee has great pleasure in announcing some details <strong>of</strong> the NATIONAL CON-<br />
VENTION 2010 to be held in Queensland from 17th to 21st May, 2010.<br />
Queensland, have you ever enjoyed a congenial holiday in Queensland? Does the idea <strong>of</strong> spending your<br />
next holiday there sound gratifying? Now here’s your chance. Plan a holiday to Queensland in autumn<br />
2010 and attend the next FAMM convention during the second week <strong>of</strong> May, 2010 at the Sunshine Coast.<br />
Meet people with a like interest in movie making. Join in the many activities being planned , attend workshops<br />
and participate with other movie makers. There will be informative speakers and movie nights, a<br />
banquet to enjoy with friends in pleasant surroundings and mild weather.<br />
You may wish to arrive earlier or stay a little longer and take pleasure in some more Queensland hospitality<br />
– the Sunshine Coast area is a diverse region <strong>of</strong> spectacular coastal scenery, interesting local history, diverse<br />
cultural flavours, calm rivers and lakes and picturesque hinterland places. It is a photographer’s paradise.<br />
Australis Noosa Lakes Convention and Exhibition Centre has been chosen as the venue. It <strong>of</strong>fers comfortable<br />
conference rooms with high quality service, amenities and equipment.<br />
The venue is the ideal affordable Sunshine Coast holiday. Noosa is one and a half hours from Brisbane by<br />
road and just thirty minutes from the Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore). Shuttle bus connection from<br />
the Sunshine Coast Airport costs about $23.<br />
There are three Caravan/Holiday Parks close to the Australis - Noosa River Caravan Park, Russell Street,<br />
Noosa Tewantin Caravan Park, Moorindil Street, Tewantin and Big 4 Bougainvillea Holiday Park, 141 Cooroy<br />
Road, Tewantin.<br />
Translink local bus services operate past the Australis on a regular basis going to and returning from all the<br />
coastal centres, Tewantin, Noosa, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba and Caloundra. Catch<br />
the Noosa River Ferry just 150 metres away and the trip to Noosa’s Hastings Street takes a leisurely<br />
35mins.<br />
Note: FIVE BEST Entries will close on 10 February 2010, the results then determine the placings for the<br />
FEDERATION SHIELD.<br />
