Fires Creek Bear Sanctuary in Clay<br />

County and in that part <strong>of</strong> Cherokee<br />

County north <strong>of</strong> US 64 and <strong>NC</strong> 294,<br />

east <strong>of</strong> Persimmon Creek and<br />

Hiwassee Lake, south <strong>of</strong> Hiwassee<br />

Lake and west <strong>of</strong> Nottely River; in<br />

the same part <strong>of</strong> Cherokee County<br />

dog training is prohibited from March<br />

1 to the Monday on or nearest<br />

October 15.<br />

(47) Needmore Game Land in Macon and Swain<br />

counties.<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Horseback riding shall be prohibited<br />

except on designated trails May 16<br />

through August 31 and all horseback<br />

riding shall be prohibited from<br />

September 1 through May 15. This<br />

Rule includes all equine species.<br />

(48) Neuse River Game Land in Craven County<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

first six open days and the last six<br />

open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(49) New Lake Game Land in Hyde and Tyrrell<br />

counties<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken all<br />

the open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(50) Nicholson Creek Game Land in Hoke County<br />

(A) Three Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken with<br />

bow and arrow on open hunting days<br />

from the Saturday on or nearest<br />

September 10 to the third Friday<br />

before Thanksgiving.<br />

(C) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken with<br />

muzzle-loading firearms on open<br />

hunting days beginning the third<br />

Saturday before Thanksgiving<br />

through the following Wednesday.<br />

(D) The Deer With Visible Antlers season<br />

consists <strong>of</strong> the open hunting days<br />

from the second Saturday before<br />

Thanksgiving through the third<br />

Saturday after Thanksgiving.<br />

(E) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

last open day <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(F) The use <strong>of</strong> dogs for hunting deer is<br />

prohibited.<br />

(G) Wild turkey hunting is by permit<br />

only.<br />

(51) North River Game Land in Currituck, Camden<br />

and Pasquotank counties<br />

(A)<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken all<br />

the open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

The boundary <strong>of</strong> the Game Land shall<br />

extend five yards from the edge <strong>of</strong> the<br />

marsh or shoreline.<br />

(D) Wild turkey hunting is by permit only<br />

on that portion in Camden County.<br />

(E) Hunting on the posted waterfowl<br />

impoundment is by permit only.<br />

(52) Northwest River Marsh Game Land in<br />

Currituck County<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

(B)<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken all<br />

the open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(C) The boundary <strong>of</strong> the Game Land shall<br />

extend five yards from the edge <strong>of</strong> the<br />

(53) Pee Dee River Game Land in Anson,<br />

Montgomery, Richmond and Stanly counties<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(C)<br />

Use <strong>of</strong> centerfire rifles prohibited in<br />

that portion in Anson and Richmond<br />

counties North <strong>of</strong> US-74.<br />

(54) Perkins Game Land in Davie County<br />

(A) Three Days per Week Area<br />

(B)<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

last open day <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(55) Pisgah Game Land in Avery, Buncombe,<br />

Burke, Caldwell, Haywood, Henderson,<br />

Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Transylvania,<br />

Watauga and Yancey counties<br />

(A)<br />

(B)<br />

Six Days per Week Area<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

last open day <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season except<br />

on that portion in Avery County south<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Blue Ridge Parkway, Yancey<br />

County, and that portion in Haywood<br />

County encompassed by US 276 on<br />

the north, US 74 on the west, and the<br />

Blue Ridge Parkway on the south and<br />

east.<br />
