(D) Horseback riding is prohibited except<br />

May 15. This Rule includes all<br />

equine species.<br />

(12) Bullard and Branch Hunting Preserve Game<br />

first six open days and the last six<br />

open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

(13) Butner - Falls <strong>of</strong> Neuse Game Land in<br />

Durham, Granville and Wake counties<br />

first six open days and the last six<br />

open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

(C) Waterfowl shall be taken only on<br />

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays;<br />

Christmas and New Year's Days, and<br />

on the opening and closing days <strong>of</strong><br />

the applicable waterfowl seasons.<br />

Waterfowl shall not be taken after<br />

1:00 p.m. On the posted waterfowl<br />

impoundments a special permit is<br />

required for all waterfowl hunting<br />

after November 1.<br />

(D) Horseback riding, including all<br />

(15) Carteret County Game Land in Carteret<br />

County<br />

(A) Six Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

first six open days and the last six<br />

open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(16) Caswell Game Land in Caswell County<br />

(A) Three Days per Week Area<br />

(B) Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

last six open days <strong>of</strong> the applicable<br />

Deer With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may also be taken<br />

the Thursday and Friday preceding<br />

the Central muzzle-loading season by<br />

participants in the Disabled<br />

Sportsman Program.<br />

Horseback riding is allowed only<br />

during June, July, and August and on<br />

Sundays during the remainder <strong>of</strong> the<br />

year except during open turkey and<br />

deer seasons. Horseback riding is<br />

allowed only on roads opened to<br />

vehicular traffic. Participants must<br />

obtain a game lands license prior to<br />

engaging in such activity.<br />

Bearded or beardless turkeys may be<br />

taken from the Monday on or nearest<br />

to January 15 through the following<br />

Saturday by permit only.<br />

(E) The area encompassed by the<br />

following roads is closed to all quail<br />

and woodcock hunting and all bird<br />

dog training: From Yanceyville<br />

south on <strong>NC</strong> 62 to the intersection <strong>of</strong><br />

SR 1746, west on SR1746 to the<br />

intersection <strong>of</strong> SR 1156, south on SR<br />

1156 to the intersection <strong>of</strong> SR 1783,<br />

east on SR 1783 to the intersection <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>NC</strong> 62, north on <strong>NC</strong>62 to the<br />

intersection <strong>of</strong> SR 1736, east on SR<br />

1736 to the intersection <strong>of</strong> SR 1730,<br />

east on SR 1730 to <strong>NC</strong> 86, north on<br />

<strong>NC</strong> 86 to <strong>NC</strong> 62.<br />

(F) On the posted waterfowl<br />

impoundment, waterfowl hunting is<br />

by permit only after November 1.<br />

(17) Caswell Farm Game Land in Lenoir County<br />

(A) Dove-Only Area<br />

(B) Dove hunting is by permit only from<br />

opening day through either the first<br />

Saturday or Labor Day which ever<br />

comes last <strong>of</strong> the first segment <strong>of</strong><br />

dove season.<br />

(18) Catawba Game Land in Catawba County<br />

(B)<br />

Three Days per Week Area<br />

Deer <strong>of</strong> either sex may be taken the<br />

last open day <strong>of</strong> the applicable Deer<br />

With Visible Antlers Season.<br />

(C) Deer may be taken with bow and<br />

arrow only from the tract known as<br />

Molly's Backbone.<br />
