REMOTE READING SYSTEM
FOR LUXTERM HEAT
METERS LUXTERM® á/
LUXTERM® ám
The remote reading system is inten<strong>de</strong>d for the remote
collection of the information concerning the heat energy
consumption registered by Luxterm heat meter, which is
equipped with radio module.
The system is ma<strong>de</strong> up of the following:
- The thermic energy meter LUXTERM®á / LUXTERM ám®
equippted with radio module for the remote reading of the
meters;
- The hand-held terminal PSION Workabout equipped with radio
interface;
- The Central computer with the data base for collecting the
thermic energy consumption.
On site data collection concerning thermic energy consumption
is ma<strong>de</strong> through the PSION hand-held terminal equiped with
radio communication interface and the data is stored on a PC.
To achieve these functions it is used the software application
Luxterm_PSION2k, which is ma<strong>de</strong> up of two modules:
- LuxtermCE, for hand-held terminals type Psion Workabout
and
- LuxtermPC, for Pcs.
LUXTERMCE SOFTWARE APPLICATION
DESCRIPTION
User interface application: a system of menus and dialog
boxes.
Launching the application: only after entering a user
password.
Some menu items can be disabled <strong>de</strong>pending on the
current user rights.
METER READING (RADIO, RS 232)
• Individualreading:
Byselectingfromthelist;
Bymanuallyenteringthemeter’s series.
• MultipleReading:
-Allmetersfromthelist;
- Unreadmetersfromthelist.
• Manually entering of current data.
Successful read operations have as a result the storage of read
data in files with names such as Series_meter and the disp<strong>la</strong>ying
of them in the viewing area.
An error occurred during the communication process has as a
result the ending of the process and the user receives a warning
through an error message.

METERS PROGRAMMING
• The programming of the parameters:

- Thermiccoefficient(limpandimpl);
- Referencetemperature/seasons.
In or<strong>de</strong>r to make the transfer it is necessary that the Microsoft
Active Sync application to be installed on the computer and the
<strong>de</strong>vice PSION to be connected to the computer.

• Auxiliary functions
The content of the viewing area in the main window can be:
- Exported in text format;
- Exported in Excel;
- Copied in the clipboard;
- Printed on the system’s printer.

The program LuxtermPC allows:
To transferdatafrom the memory ofaPCPSIONhandheld
terminal on a PC, to storethe dateinadatabase
and to view this database
to Setupthe passwordsandthe listsofconsumers
SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS
• Create a new list/editing an existing list of consumer
profiles:
- Address(name address);
- Metertype;
- Meter Series.
• Export files to PSION
The list or program edited files can be exported in or<strong>de</strong>r to be
used by LuxtermCE program that runs on PSION.
In or<strong>de</strong>r to make the transfer it is necessary that the
Microsoft Active Sync application to be installed on the
computer and the <strong>de</strong>vice PSION to be connected to the
computer.
• Transfer data from PSION on PC
Transferred files are successively loa<strong>de</strong>d into the viewing area
of the program and can be traced in the dialog box of the list
box.
The file formats created by the application LuxtermCE is
compatible with the LuxtermPC program.
The transferred current data will be automatically saved on a
PC in an Access database.

• Communication distance: up to 200 m open field.
