REMOTE READING SYSTEM<br />

FOR LUXTERM HEAT<br />

METERS LUXTERM® á/<br />

LUXTERM® ám<br />

The remote reading system is inten<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>d for the remote<br />

collection of the information concerning the heat energy<br />

consumption registered by Luxterm heat meter, which is<br />

equipped with radio module.<br />

The system is ma<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> up of the following:<br />

- The thermic energy meter LUXTERM®á / LUXTERM ám®<br />

equippted with radio module for the remote reading of the<br />

meters;<br />

- The hand-held terminal PSION Workabout equipped with radio<br />

interface;<br />

- The Central computer with the data base for collecting the<br />

thermic energy consumption.<br />

On site data collection concerning thermic energy consumption<br />

is ma<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> th<strong>ro</strong>ugh the PSION hand-held terminal equiped with<br />

radio communication interface and the data is stored on a PC.<br />

To achieve these functions it is used the software application<br />

Luxterm_PSION2k, which is ma<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> up of two modules:<br />

- LuxtermCE, for hand-held terminals type Psion Workabout<br />

and<br />

- LuxtermPC, for Pcs.<br />

LUXTERMCE SOFTWARE APPLICATION<br />

DESCRIPTION<br />

User interface application: a system of menus and dialog<br />

boxes.<br />

Launching the application: only after entering a user<br />

password.<br />

Some menu items can be disabled <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>pending on the<br />

current user rights.<br />

METER READING (RADIO, RS 232)<br />

• Individualreading:<br />

Byselectingf<strong>ro</strong>mthelist;<br />

Bymanuallyenteringthemeter’s series.<br />

• MultipleReading:<br />

-Allmetersf<strong>ro</strong>mthelist;<br />

- Unreadmetersf<strong>ro</strong>mthelist.<br />

• Manually entering of current data.<br />

Successful read operations have as a result the storage of read<br />

data in files with names such as Series_meter and the disp<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>la</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>ying<br />

of them in the viewing area.<br />

An er<strong>ro</strong>r occurred during the communication p<strong>ro</strong>cess has as a<br />

result the ending of the p<strong>ro</strong>cess and the user receives a warning<br />

th<strong>ro</strong>ugh an er<strong>ro</strong>r message.<br />

Active Sync application to be installed on the computer and the<br />

<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>vice PSION to be connected to the computer.<br />

The content of the viewing area in the main window can be:<br />

The p<strong>ro</strong>gram LuxtermPC allows:<br />

To transferdataf<strong>ro</strong>m the memory ofaPCPSIONhandheld<br />

terminal on a PC, to storethe dateinadatabase<br />

and to view this database<br />

to Setupthe passwordsandthe listsofconsumers<br />

SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS<br />

• Create a new list/editing an existing list of consumer<br />

p<strong>ro</strong>files:<br />

- Address(name address);<br />

- Metertype;<br />

- Meter Series.<br />

• Export files to PSION<br />

The list or p<strong>ro</strong>gram edited files can be exported in or<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>r to be<br />

used by LuxtermCE p<strong>ro</strong>gram that runs on PSION.<br />

In or<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>r to make the transfer it is necessary that the<br />

Mic<strong>ro</strong>soft Active Sync application to be installed on the<br />

computer and the <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>vice PSION to be connected to the<br />

computer.<br />

• Transfer data f<strong>ro</strong>m PSION on PC<br />

Transferred files are successively loa<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>d into the viewing area<br />

of the p<strong>ro</strong>gram and can be traced in the dialog box of the list<br />

box.<br />

The file formats created by the application LuxtermCE is<br />

compatible with the LuxtermPC p<strong>ro</strong>gram.<br />

The transferred current data will be automatically saved on a<br />

PC in an Access database.<br />
