THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ADVANTAGE
Since 1978, Zetex and ZetexPlus fabrics, tapes and ropes have been recommended world-wide for shipbuilding,
petro-chemical, power generation, mining, metal refining, and many other industrial applications.
Zetex and ZetexPlus are proven, time-tested textiles:
Zetex products are used for applications up to 1100˚F
(593˚C) and ZetexPlus products are used for applications
to 2000˚F (1093˚C). Materials have an average
K-value of 0.3399 BTU/inch/hr/sq ft/˚F.
Zetex and ZetexPlus are not only high temperature
resistant, but can also withstand cold temperatures
to -100˚F (-73˚C).
High dielectric strength and low constant of 5.9 to 6.4.
Zetex and ZetexPlus fabrics are chemical resistant ~
resisting most acids, alkalies and solvents. The fabrics
are also mildew resistant.
Most fabrics are made from durable texturized
amorphous silica yarns that are twice as strong
as steel wire of same diameter.
Expanded line of coated fabrics have low smoke
emissions and are designed for fabrication.
Aluminized Zetex fabric reflects 90% of radiant heat.
Wide selection of weights, thicknesses, and widths.
Fabrics are UL listed and exceed European EN407
industrial standards.
Made in USA.
ZetexPlus resists burn-through by a continuous
flame. The temperature of the fabric on opposite side
of flame measures only 179˚F (82˚C) with the probe
1 inch from the material.
FABRICS Welding Applications
Newtex introduces an expanded line of fabrics for welding protection and fabrication into
safety blankets, curtains, and shields. These fabrics are designed to protect personnel
and equipment from sparks and molten metal splash for shipbuilding, power generation,
petro-chemical and many other industrial applications.
Z-SIL
Z-SIL is a high silica fabric treated with a proprietary
coating. With a melting point of 3000˚F (1650˚C) and
continuous operating temperatures of up to 1800˚F (980˚C),
it is an ideal material for stress relief and equipment
protection. Z-Sil 600 and 1100 are made from continuous
filament yarns; Z-Sil 1600 is made from texturized yarns.
Z-PRO
Z-PRO fabrics feature an abrasion resistant coating for
tough welding applications that also helps to prevent
wicking. Z-Pro is also available as glass/aramid fabric.
ZetexPlus ®
ZetexPlus is a texturized glass fabric with a proprietary
high temperature treatment.
Z-Shield
Z-Shield fabric is excellent for fabrication. The most
popular color is gold; also available in other colors.
Z-Shield fabric helps to prevent wicking.
Zetex ®
Zetex 800 with bright safety orange color and
Zetex 600, an 18 oz. fabric, are the most
common Zetex fabrics used for welding.
Zetex Salmon
Zetex Salmon is an economical 15 oz. fabric
available in salmon (pink) and black. Other
colors also are available.
