WELCOME TO PJF’S 22 ND ANNUAL GOODS AND SERVICES AUCTION MARCH 10, 2011 It is with great excitement that the Public Justice Foundation Executive Board welcomes you to the Twenty-Second Annual Goods and Services Auction. The Auction is a tradition at Hofstra Law School unlike any other. Each year our auction raises funds to help support law students who provide quality legal services in the public sector during the summer months. The auction is always done with great style and humor, and we are hopeful that this year will be no exception. So relax, have a drink, loosen your wallets and your laughs, and enjoy the night we have planned for you. We will begin with a presentation honoring Professor Eric Lane with the David A. Diamond Distinguished Public Service Award for his continued work with death penalty and habeas corpus cases. Then we will honor Ms. Catherine Samuels with the 5 th Annual Public Justice Foundation Outstanding Alumni Award for dedicating her career to serving the public interest. We would like to thank the entire Hofstra Law School community and the local businesses that donated many of the items and services available for purchase this evening. Special thanks are extended to this year’s PJF members for their time and effort to make all of this possible. We further recognize the student body, student organizations, faculty, administration, and alumni as being instrumental in the success of this auction. In the past auctions, generous donations enabled the Public Justice Foundation to raise over $20,000 for student fellowships. We look forward to surpassing that amount this year through your involvement and generosity. We have a wide variety of wonderful items and services for you to bid on tonight. Please take a moment to look through the program carefully to consider all we have to offer. If you have any questions, our PJF Auction volunteers will be happy to assist you.
