6.3 Category B Test Requirements <strong>for</strong> Unprocessed Feedstocks<br />

Category B Toxicant Assessment Tests shall follow the test frequency <strong>and</strong> reporting<br />

requirements given above, with the following exception <strong>for</strong> unprocessed feedstocks:<br />

If the initial Category B test results <strong>for</strong> biochar made from an unprocessed feedstock are all<br />

within the Maximum Allowable Thresholds established by these Biochar <strong>Guidelines</strong>, then the<br />

Category B tests may be repeated every three years rather than annually, as long as the<br />

thermochemical production parameters <strong>and</strong> the feedstock composition all remain the same.<br />

Figure 1, below, is a set of two process flow charts that compares the initial testing<br />

requirements <strong>for</strong> all feedstock materials with the annual testing requirements, showing how the<br />

exception <strong>for</strong> unprocessed feedstocks is incorporated.<br />
