Punja, 2002). Other explanations for the strongly<br />

inhibi<strong>to</strong>ry effect of specific fatty acids (especially<br />

cis-monounsaturated ones) against powdery mildews<br />

are, however, also possible (Wang et al.,<br />

2002). Unsaturated fatty acids could also be the<br />

basis for the anti-powdery mildew activity of<br />

cow’s milk described by Bettiol (1999).
