CHAPTER XXII.<br />

MOST HOLY MARY IS CROWNED AS QUEEN OF HEAVEN AND<br />

OF ALL CREATURES; ALL HER GREAT PRIVILEGES IN<br />

FAVOR OF MANKIND ARE AGAIN CONFIRMED UPON HER.<br />

775. When Christ Jesus <strong>the</strong> Savior <strong>to</strong>ok leave of his<br />

disciples in order <strong>to</strong> enter upon his suffering, He <strong>to</strong>ld<br />

<strong>the</strong>m not <strong>to</strong> be disturbed in <strong>the</strong>ir hearts on account of <strong>the</strong><br />

things He had <strong>to</strong>ld <strong>the</strong>m; because in <strong>the</strong> house of his<br />

Fa<strong>the</strong>r, which is eternal happiness, <strong>the</strong>re are many man<br />

sions. He fur<strong>the</strong>r assured <strong>the</strong>m, that <strong>the</strong>re was room<br />

and reward for all, although <strong>the</strong> merits and <strong>the</strong>ir good<br />

works be diverse and that no one should be disturbed<br />

in his peace and hope, though he should see o<strong>the</strong>rs more<br />

favored or advanced ;<br />

because in <strong>the</strong> house of God <strong>the</strong>re<br />

are many grades and many dwellings, in which each one<br />

shall be content with what shall belong <strong>to</strong> him without<br />

envy; for this is one of <strong>the</strong> great blessings of that eternal<br />

I have said that most blessed Mary was assigned<br />

felicity.<br />

<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> supreme position and state on <strong>the</strong> throne of <strong>the</strong><br />

most blessed Trinity. Many times have I expressed myself<br />

in <strong>the</strong>se terms in order <strong>to</strong> point out great sacraments and<br />

similar terms are used by <strong>the</strong> saints and by <strong>the</strong> sacred scrip<br />

tures <strong>the</strong>mselves (Apoc. 1, 4; 3, 21). Although no o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

argument is really necessary, never<strong>the</strong>less, for those who<br />

have not such a deep insight, I will say that God, as He is<br />

<strong>the</strong> purest Spirit and at <strong>the</strong> same time infinite, immense,<br />

incomprehensible, has no need of a material throne or<br />

seat; for He fills all creation and is present in all crea<br />

tures ;<br />

He is<br />

comprehended or circumscribed by none, but<br />
