THE CORONATION 621<br />

brought <strong>to</strong> me <strong>the</strong> holy Fa<strong>the</strong>r for assisting me in <strong>the</strong><br />

hour of my Then came death.&quot;<br />

saint Paul, <strong>to</strong> whom <strong>the</strong><br />

Queen showed <strong>the</strong> same reverence with similar <strong>to</strong>kens<br />

of her pleasure at seeing him. The Apostles saluted<br />

and as Mis<br />

Her as <strong>the</strong> Mo<strong>the</strong>r of God, as <strong>the</strong>ir Queen<br />

tress of all creation; but with a sorrow equal <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

reverence, because <strong>the</strong>y knew that <strong>the</strong>y had come <strong>to</strong> wit<br />

ness her passing away. After <strong>the</strong>se Apostles came <strong>the</strong><br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs and <strong>the</strong> disciples still living. Three days after,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y were all assembled in <strong>the</strong> Cenacle. The heavenly<br />

Mo<strong>the</strong>r received <strong>the</strong>m all with profound humility, rever<br />

complied, and saluted Her with admirable reverence.<br />

had not been positively informed by <strong>the</strong> angels, but were<br />

moved by interior inspirations and a sweet and forcible<br />

intimation of God s will <strong>to</strong> come <strong>to</strong> Jerusalem. They<br />

immediately conferred with saint Peter, desirous of<br />

knowing <strong>the</strong> occasion of <strong>the</strong>ir meeting; for all of <strong>the</strong>m<br />

were convinced, that if <strong>the</strong>re had been no special occa<br />

sion, <strong>the</strong> Lord would not have urged <strong>the</strong>m so strongly<br />

<strong>to</strong> come. The apostle saint Peter, as <strong>the</strong> head of <strong>the</strong><br />

Church, called <strong>the</strong>m all <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r in order <strong>to</strong> tell <strong>the</strong>m of<br />

<strong>the</strong> cause of <strong>the</strong>ir coming, and spoke <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> assembly:<br />

&quot;My<br />

dearest children and brethren, <strong>the</strong> Lord has called<br />

and brought us <strong>to</strong> Jerusalem from remote regions not<br />
