ESUS, my Redeemer, in Thy agony on the cross,
Thou didst not forget me. Before saying All
is consummated, Thou didst bequeath to me a
tender Iegacy. Thou didst leave me Thy sorrowful
Mother to be my Mother also, in the words, Behold
thy sen - behold thy mother! Thy beloved
disciple represented us all while standing beside
Thy afflicted Mother in the shadow of the cross.
I returneThee thanks, 0 my Saviour, for this
inestimable favor. And thou, my tender Mother,
thou hast begottea me at the foot of the cross.
I am the child of thy sorrow. Take me under
thy protection. Conduct me to Jesus. Teach me
to love Him, to please Him, to be like to Him.
0 Mother, 0 tender Mother! how happy am I in
the glorious privilege of being thy child ! 0 Mary,
show that thou art my Mother. Obtain for me
the grace of a holy life and a happy death.
