ECALL to mind all <strong>the</strong> sad and sorrowful scenes of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Way of <strong>the</strong> Cross - all <strong>the</strong> sufferings of Our<br />

Lord, from <strong>the</strong> crowning with thorns to <strong>the</strong> crucifixion;<br />

<strong>the</strong>n remember that <strong>the</strong> passion of Jesus Christ, our<br />

Redeemer, is a revelation of <strong>the</strong> heinousness of sin and an<br />

evidence of <strong>the</strong> priceless value of man's immortal soul.<br />

Reflect upon <strong>the</strong> words: "What shall it profit a man, if<br />

he gain <strong>the</strong> whole world, and suffer <strong>the</strong> loss of his soul?"<br />

(Mark viii. 36).<br />
