true discipleship this indwding of the spirit of Christ
develops and accentuates individual character, as we
see in the lives of the saints; for nowhere do you get
greater individuality of character than amongst the
saints. In each personality Christ finds as it were a
fresh medium for the manifestation of Himself,and in

same form or with quite the same lineaments. The
general lines are the same: there is the meekness, the
purity, the unworldliness of Our Lord; there is His
pity for the unfortunate, His love of souls, and so on.

disciple, the character of each as a whole will be different.
There will be subtle distinctions of personality; the
meekness of Christ in one will shine forth from a setting
of chamcter different in many subtle ways from the
setting of character in another. And so with all the
