I.R.I.S. installs an invoice processing solution at Gemini Corporation
Louvain-la-Neuve, 24 August 2010 – The stock exchange listed company I.R.I.S., (EURONEXT
Brussels: IRI), specialized in Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) 1 , Enterprise Content
Management (ECM) 2 and complex infrastructure for Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) 3 , is pleased to announce that it has been contracted by Gemini Corporation to provide an
invoice procession solution, based on IRISPowerscan and IRISXtract for Documents.
Gemini Corporation NV is a multi-country commodity specialist with its head office in Belgium and
associate offices all over the world. The company has more than 100 people available to add value to
its worldwide raw material operations. Like so many other companies, Gemini was processing
incoming invoices in a manual way but was also very much aware that this is time consuming and
very cost inefficient. That’s why they started the search for the best solution provider for digital
mailrooms.
Gothal Shailesh, CTO of Gemini Corporation NV: “We wanted to improve the incoming invoice
process by automating it. The purpose is to reduce costs by setting up a centralised shared service,
decreasing handling and processing time, and improving the search and consultation of invoices
afterwards. Key aspects for us are digitisation, automatic data extraction and integration with
SharePoint with approval workflows and all of this in a secure and fast way.”
And he adds: “Furthermore we want to extract all container numbers from the invoices, besides the
normal data, this makes tracking of those containers much easier. Also, because of the mobility of
our staff, the approval process has to enable remote access. Finally, we want the solution to be
centralised, unifying the different payment processes from all Gemini offices around the world.”

I.R.I.S. proposed to deploy a fully-integrated solution based on I.R.I.S. technologies: IRISPowerscan
for digitization of paper invoices, and IRISXtract for Documents for data extraction, control and
validation.
The project includes planning, execution and control of the different functional and organisational
performances. A number of management processes were identified as key to success, including the
analysis of the existing system architecture, development of the new solution and data migration,
training of the Gemini staff, etc.
