Furthermore, it should be noted that for-profits are not too eager to talk about their budget,
whereas non-profits, who are often working with a mix of income sources and a single
budget for the whole association, cannot separate the budget for youth work from their other
activities. Public and semi-public providers, in contrast, more often explicitly target young
people and receive funding for exactly these activities, so they can more easily identify the
amounts budgeted for their youth work.

Most of the providers finance their youth work activities through a mix of membership and
participation fees, sponsoring and municipal funds. The reason for the high number of
organisation that depend on membership fees is that many of them are sports associations.
