<strong>in</strong> this directi<strong>on</strong> would lead to distorti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g can be said of the data <strong>on</strong> youth activities:<br />

� the best documented sectors are those of publicly supported youth work and of<br />

activities implemented by public providers<br />

� because participati<strong>on</strong> <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vestigati<strong>on</strong>s was <strong>on</strong> a voluntary basis, <strong>on</strong>ly partial<br />

sectors could be documented, even <strong>in</strong> the case of publicly funded measures (Austria,<br />

the Netherlands);
