We’ve got what the industry is talking about...Large framed typical deer plus one of
our other goals...healthy whitetail deer. They both go hand in hand at BB Genetics.
We are located in Northern Indiana. We began raising whitetail deer in 2000, starting
out with one buck and 6 does we had bought from local Indiana deer farmers.
Each year there was and still is new challenges we face when it comes to raising and
treating our deer. Since I had been a hog farmer for 40 years, I knew the importance of vaccinating
livestock to produce the healthiest animals that I could, so that was a plus for our farm and
carried over to our deer.
In the first year we got with our local vet and came up with a vaccination
program for our herd. Our fawns are vaccinated and tagged within the first 12 hours of birth.
We also vaccinate our whole herd each year with the same vaccinations. We have also been vaccinating
our whole herd with the EHD Type 1 & 2 & Blue Tongue17 ever since Indiana acquired
Missouri’s vaccine.
Let’s say BB Genetics does not skimp on the cost of producing healthy deer. That
goes for the feed we mix ourselves also. They get the best of the best in nutrition and care that
anyone could give them.
We want those deer farmers who buy deer from us to have big bodied, healthy deer
when they leave our farm.
Comments: #235 being out of BB Snaps and a Bucky granddaughter, this will make a very good cross when
breeding #235 to BB Widowmaker. With BB Widowmaker’s long tines including 16” G2’s (no splits included here to
equal up to 16 inches) and #235 being out of BB Snaps/Bucky granddaughter, I’ll bet on this one to make great big
typicals. What you get, I will get because I am keeping her twin sister #236. If you think I’m keeping the best one, then
if you buy this doe #235 and you want to switch, then we’ll switch and we will still both have the same breeding and
both be winners on this lot.
Comments: Wow! Double Patrick top and bottom and Patrick 111, 112. Plus bottom side R-2 bred to Thunderstorm
where R2-TS1 was out of, She is called Spring Storm! #263 is 1 1/2 years old being bred to BB Curly. Now him
being over 300” and breeding #263 that has come out of some of the biggest typical lines that we have. This means
you’ll be raising some of the biggest typicaldeer that you’ll have on your farm. We don’t just hope we’re going to get
big typical deer, we know we’re going to get big typical deer with long tines!
Prince/Pepsi doe
Comments: #186 is a very good doe, being offspring of Pepsi and Patrick has
been some of my best producers. She is bred to Target, 24” inside scoring
251”. He is a son Hail Storm and R-2 which is HD’s twin sister. You’ll get nothing
but big wide massive tall tine typical deer. She is a five footer, she’ll be a
good one to put on your farm!
