Medical Image Review and Analysis System (MIRA)
MIRA is ICON Medical Imaging’s core tool for imaging clinical research trials. This 21
C.F.R. Part 11 compliant system provides functionality for imaging data management,
clinical data management, image analysis, project management and document management.
It is a comprehensive, permission based system that incorporates project teams,
user roles, workflows, study timelines and query/resolution. MIRA enables ICON Medical
Imaging to manage clinical trial data in a proactive, well-controlled environment with
complete audit trails.
Use of MIRA offers our clients:
• Study information 24/7
• Secure, remote access with full functionality, including study reports
• Wholly integrated with eCRFs to control image presentation and lesion measurements
• 100% digital environment for tracking and images
• Permission controls
• Procedures based on work flow
• Complete audit trails
• Scalability and extensibility
The MIRA application allows users to import, associate, analyze, review and database
medical images and associated regions of interest for endpoint determination of clinical
trials. MIRA also retains a centralized and secure repository of medical images associated
with a particular clinical trial protocol. Once images are received and databased,
MIRA allows users to review and annotate images with measurements and markers and
archive the assessments for the generation of supportive data describing clinical responses.
Medical Imaging
One of the major benefits of MIRA is the ability to store an audit trail including a history of
events taken in the application by users as well as the status of data in defined task lists. To
allow multi-user access, MIRA has been developed with a client-server interface to a
database repository linking it to a secure image storage repository. The MIRA application
is highly permissible, such that features can be disabled and enabled for different users.
