In this manual, the person being lifted is<br />

referred to as the “patient” or “occupant” and<br />

the person operating the patient lift is called<br />

the “operator” or “attendant”.<br />

Stand Patient Lift is designed for use by<br />

individuals who can support the majority of<br />

their own weight. Special care must be taken<br />

with patients who cannot provide assistance<br />

while being lifted. (i.e. such as patients who<br />

are comatose, spastic, agitated or otherwise<br />

severely handicapped).<br />
