Welcome to the PM+ learning Portal
Read this document to get started using PM+ learning portal. This document will present
you the PM+ e-Learning environment. You will get familiar with the Learning Portal user’s
interface and learn how to browse through the available information. PM+ learning Portal
is using DevWeb training platform. DevWeb training platform is developed by SNC-
Lavalin Devonyx.
What You Need to Get Started
To access PM+ training modules, you must have:
• An internet access
(PM+ Learning portal https://pmsystems.snclavalin.com/default_en.htm)
• Username and Password provided by SNC-Lavalin Inc. to PM+ Learning portal.
• PM+ Training Database access
This information is provided by email after your registration.

System Requirements
PM+ learning portal is web-based application optimised for Microsoft Windows
environment & Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.
Pentium III processor - 1 GHz, 128 MB RAM
Display screen: SVGA 256 colors, screen resolution 1024x768.
Operating system / applications:
• Microsoft Windows 2000
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
• Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0
• Adobe Flash Player 8.0
• Windows Media Player 9.0
Note: Mozilla Firefox web browser is not supported
How to Log in
Once you have clicked on the LOG IN button on the “Learning Online! Webpage
(https://pmsystems.snclavalin.com/default_en.htm), you first access to the log in page.
You are requested to enter your username and then your password.
- Then you will select the language,
- Click the Enter button to start your training session.

Home page
Because the content can be accessed as training content as well as reference
documentation, you will have to select which navigating mode you want.
The difference remains in:
• Training program: the content will be sequenced to facilitate learning
process. Objectives, course outline, formative assessments, frequently asked
questions (FAQ) and a glossary will be available to you. At the end of each
training module, a sommative assessment will test your knowledge on the
content. While you are in training mode, the system tracks the time you spend
and your final marks on the sommative assessment.
• Technical reference: The content is structured in order to be rapidly
accessed. You will see the same content as in training program but no
assessment nor will other learning tools be available. You will be able to
perform searches to find information.
• Training Supervision: The third option you will see on your screen provides
information for PM+ training team on each user's progress (training modules
completed, training modules to complete, etc.). As a user, you can view your
own profile but can not make any changes but your password.

Training program
If you select the Training Program, you will access a menu page containing a list of
training modules. The modules you will see are the modules related to your functions and
that you need to follow.
You can view your training progress from the icon in front of each module.

Main page components
The main page contains several sections.

Toolbar
The toolbar will give you a direct access to the home and menu pages. It will also give
you different options as for printing, getting more information and quitting the system.

Home: brings you back to the Devweb home page
Menu: brings you back to the previous menu, to the “Training Program” page or to the
Home Page depending from where you clicked that link.
Print: shows various print options
Help: displays the document you are currently viewing
Quit: quit the DevWeb platform

Index
The index at the top of your screen will give you a reference point in your training
process. The red tab will indicate which section you are navigating in.

Objectives: Knowledge that you must acquire (listed as learning objectives)
Course Outline: Summary and length of learning activities and of assessments
Content: Knowledge that you must understand in order to meet learning objectives
Formative: Learning activities (questions and exercises) to verify you level of
understanding
Summative: Formal assessment to test if you meet the learning objectives
Each section within the index displays a list of items. If you point with the mouse on any
of these items; the selected item will highlight. Clicking on this item will direct you to the
first page of the selected item.

Text boxes
You will notice that at the right end of the interface there is a text box. By reading the
information presented in this section, you will attain the learning objectives of the
module.

The red zone of the text box is composed of two key information. The first line represents
the title of the training module. The second line identifies the section you are navigating
in and the page title.
The beige zone of the text box contains the main text that supports the visual, explains
concepts and lists steps of various processes.

Narrations
At the bottom of the screen, you will notice a narration toolbar that allows you to play
back and to take a pause on the narration.

We recommend that you put headphones during the training module. If you don’t hear
the narration, we suggest you to verify your device volume. To do so, you will have to
click on the "Start" button at the bottom left of your screen. Click on "Control Panel" and
select "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties". You will than be able to turn up the
volume.

The Navigation toolbar at the bottom of your screen will help you to browse through the
various pages of the training module.

Technical Reference mode
If you choose the technical reference mode, you will have access to the same content
pages but not to the learning tools. You won't see the assessments, the FAQ, the
glossary, the objectives and course outline. You will be able to go directly to the section
of the content you want with the menu. Once you will access a content page, you will
need to click on the Menu button to come back to the menu.

Search tool
In the Reference mode, you will notice that on the top right end of the interface there is
a search tool. You just have to write down you request and than click on GO and your
search results will appear in a pop-up. This is very helpful to get information rapidly.
