ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COUNCIL
For the period 1 st June 2010 to 31 st May 2011
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 63 rd Annual General Meeting was held on 25 th September 2010 at Taman Rimba
Lagenda, Taman Negara Johor, Gunung Ledang. YBhg Dato’ Dr Hashim Abd. Wahab, Vice
President of the Society, presided at the meeting and 105 members of the Society were
present.
ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL
The following members of the Society, having been nominated under Rule 50, were elected
to the Council for the term 2010-2012.

BRANCH COMMITTEES
Council approved the creation of a new branch of the Society in Sandakan, Sabah, bringing
the total number of branches to 14.
EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETINGS
An Extraordinary General Meeting was held on 26 March 2011 at Rimba Ilmu, Universiti
Malaya, and Kuala Lumpur. YBhg Assoc Prof Dr Maketab Mohamed, President of the
Society, presided at the meeting and 47 members were present. Due to the absence of
quorum the meeting was adjourned and the postponed meeting was held on 9 April 2011 at
the Society’s Headquarters. The President of the Society presided at the meeting and 81
members were present. The meeting approved the new constitution of the Society.
MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL
The Council met on four occasions during the year.
a) On 17 July 2010 at the Society’s Headquarters;
b) On 17 October 2010 at the Society’s Headquarters;
c) On 16 January 2011 at the Kuala Selangor Nature Park; and
d) On 16 April 2011 at the Society’s Headquarters.
MEMBERSHIP
The total number of members of the Society on 31 st May 2011 was 3503, not including
members of the Kelab Pencinta Alam school nature clubs. The membership had undergone
the following changes during the year:

HONORARY MEMBERS
Honorary membership of the Society was awarded to the following seven individuals: Dr M.
Nadchatram, Mr Lim Kim Chye, Datin Angela Hijjas, Dr Yong Hoi Sen, Mr Kanda Kumar, Mr
Leong Yueh Kwong and Dr Kiew Bong Heang.
