cell sub-areas with different local propagation characteristics as indicated in Figure 4.1, Figure 4.2 and
Figure 4.3, respectively. In the example of Figure 4.2 the correlation could arise from the obstruction of
the same building while in Figure 4.3 the correlation arises from the fact that the local environment of the
mobile station is the same for both base-stations. In the examples of Figure 4.1and Figure 4.2 it is
reasonable that the correlation would increase when the angle β between the two base-stations seen at the
mobile station, see Figure 4.4. Such a dependence correlation has been observed in [Maw92] where the
shadow-fading is investigated.
