PUBLIC GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL SYSTEM<br />

Introduction<br />

The Public Grievance & Assistance Cell deals with various petitions from the<br />

public. These petitions are received either directly from the petitioners or<br />

petitions are forwarded from Public Grievance Department, Writers’ Building,<br />

Kolkata or from Home (PAR) Department.<br />

On receipt <strong>of</strong> the same, the petitions are forwarded to the Superintendent <strong>of</strong><br />

Police or to the Officer-In-Charge / Inspector-In-Charge <strong>of</strong> the concerned Police<br />

Stations under whose jurisdiction the petitioners reside or to different<br />

Departments for enquiry. After the enquiry, report(s) is / are received and based<br />

on the enquiry report(s), action(s) is / are taken for disposal <strong>of</strong> the petitions /<br />

claims under intimation to the petitioners.<br />

<strong>Objective</strong><br />

The Public Grievance Redressal System has been developed with an aim to<br />

minimize the processing time in an effective manner for registering and<br />

maintaining up-to-date record <strong>of</strong> the grievances received from the Public.<br />

Outcome<br />

The system helps in keeping track <strong>of</strong> the grievances received and its redressal<br />

very efficiently thereby serving as a Management Information System (MIS) for<br />

the Government. The grievances can be managed and monitored in a better way<br />

through the computerized system thus benefiting both the Government and the<br />

Citizen. All the required reports are available in the system.<br />

Entry / Updation <strong>of</strong> Action taken on the grievances and<br />

Feedback received<br />

Generation <strong>of</strong> Daily / Monthly Report on grievances<br />

registered<br />

Generation <strong>of</strong> Acknowledgement, Note Sheet, Final Order,<br />

Order Sheet etc.<br />
