E-Governance at <strong>Howrah</strong><br />
Implementation Status<br />
The s<strong>of</strong>tware has been successfully implemented in various Offices <strong>of</strong> the DDOs<br />
in the district under the State Government that include <strong>District</strong> Collectorate, Zilla<br />
Parishad, <strong>District</strong> Land & Land Reforms Office and Sub-Divisional Land & Land<br />
Reforms Offices, Land Acquisition Offices (General and HIT), Office <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>District</strong> Judge, Bureau <strong>of</strong> Applied Economics & Statistics and Office <strong>of</strong> the Block<br />
Development Officers.<br />
Technical Specificiations<br />
Development Platform : Visual Basic 6.0, Seagate Crystal Report, Visual FoxPro<br />
6.0.<br />
Runtime Platform : Only a PC preloaded with Windows 98 or higher version is<br />
required. No Database Engine is required to be loaded. Thus the s<strong>of</strong>tware is<br />
proved to be a low cost solution.<br />
Post Developmental / Post Implementation Role <strong>of</strong> NIC<br />
NIC is implementing COSA in the DDOs <strong>of</strong> the district with the target to cover<br />
all the DDOs in the district. Installation support is being provided and trainings<br />
are being arranged regularly. Also modifications as suggested by the DDOs are<br />
being incorporated.<br />
As per Finance Department Memo. No. 2415-F dated 27.03.2007, Dearness Pay<br />
was incorporated in the s<strong>of</strong>tware w.e.f. 1 st April 2007.<br />
