OLD IVANHOE’S SMORGASBORD OF
FOOTBALL.
In addition to the sumptuous lunch and
afternoon tea at Chelsworth Park, Old
Ivanhoe hosted Old Brighton and on
the adjacent ground, the Old Essendon
U19s. Representatives from all three clubs
attended the lunch, which was addressed
by one of the ‘hoes’ favourite sons former
VAFA President Richard Evans.
WERRIBEE FLAG UNFURLING OR WINNING
EDGE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
Well done to Rod Harrington and the Werribee
Districts guys on a scintillating start to Premier C.
Victory in the seniors, reserves and U19s as well as
their Thirds saluting in Premier Thirds. This club
is definitely a big watch for the season and may
be early favourites for the Winning Edge Club
Championship. The flag flying is flying proudly
near the new AFL-size goal posts.
Evans spoke of the value of VAFA football to
our community and a university study that
had been conducted to quantify it in dollar
terms. More details on that soon.
