What a sensational start to the Season with
some 60 Reserve Grade players kicking three
goals or more, the windy conditions obviously
making it a nightmare for defenders.
Things must be going pretty good down at
Dairy Bell with last year’s Woodrow Medallist
Aaron Shields having a bit of a blow out in the
early game. Must have had an interrupted pre
season…
And what was Xavs Premiership Player Josh
Agius doing kicking off the dew at Toorak
Park.??
Good to see a couple of veterans in Adam
Power at Rovers and Sean Flynn out at Aquinas
having a bit of a run around helping out the
mates and keeping fit.
We focus on Premier Reserves this week
where the Tigers after a slow start were pretty
convincing winners over a plucky Haileybury
unit. Old Carey showed they have a bit of
depth this year with a debut 40 point voictory
over Trinity. Scotch, Uni Blues and the Old Xavs
all opened their account with relatively hard
fought wins.
Premier C saw the first draw of the season when
Fitzroy and AJAX played a close one that ended
somewhat controversially.
Michelles to young gun Nicholas Coroneos,
veteran Jordan Leask, Rob Officer, Steven
Anderson, and a fit Bongo Vamvakas,
Elsternwick evergreen Aaron Foster kicked
four as did Steve Vandenhunk, Julian Bayard,
Anthony Smith, Timothy Mawdsley, Callum
McKern, Matthew Bonomi, Nicholas Blyth, and
Trevor Finck.
Three was certainly the most popular variety of
the day with Brad Dancer, Nicholas Marchesani,
Philip Dinakis, Andrew Taylor, Travis Dean,
Daniel Schmidt, David Bourne, Tom Marks,
Michael Barnhoorn, James McDonnell, Aaran
Bouter, Ed Beaurepaire, James Ratcliffe,
Jonathon Pearce, Ben Darcy, Sam L’Hullier, Zan
Wenke, Daniel Kaldor, Lewis Hawkins, Mathew
Laing, Rick Ellis, Shahan Illangakoon, Andrew
Rodwell, Justin White, Brendan Murnane,
Wendall Vagg, William Wood, Jackson Whitely,
Kye Debernardi, Shaun Walker, Cameron
Furlong, Scott Robins, and Timothy Fradkin all
keeping the flag raisers busy.
