James Shanahan – Caulfield Grammarians
One of the exciting group of fresh faces at
Caulfield this season, James has made an
immediate impact on the competition with
a BOG performance against St Bernards.
In his first game for the club after finishing
at Caulfield Grammar in 2010, the 180cm
wingman impressed with his exceptional ball
use and quality delivery from both feet.
Still U19 eligible, James is sure to have sparked
the interest of the coaches and selectors for
the upcoming representative matches against
the VCFL in July. He is sure to have sparked
the interest of opposition coaches as well.

will be chosen from our weekly winners.
To be eligible for the weekly award, players must be born on or after 1 July 1989 and must not have
played a full season of VAFA senior football prior to 2011. All players born on or after 1 July 1991 are
eligible, regardless of previous experience.

TRAINER OF THE WEEK
Andy Goldberg – Beaumaris
Andy joined the Beaumaris Football Club as a
trainer at the beginning of the 2010 season. Last
year was an extremely exciting year for the club
and he played a key role in getting the boys over
the line for the tough final series culminating in the
Premier C Premiership. This year he has stepped
up as the head trainer. He has already been
tested this pre-season with a severe leg break at
training. Furthermore, the club suffered 8 severe
injuries in the last practice match and Andy and
the team managed to get 5 of them back for the
first game. Andy’s key attributes are his patience,
dedication, caring and relaxed manner. Andy does
not pretend to be what he’s not but he has won
the respect of the Beaumaris Football Club for his
honesty about what he can do and his loyalty to
the club. Andy is a great asset to the club.
Weekly winners receive $100 of personal
care products from Beiersdorf.
