VAFA RISING STAR 2010 – THE FINAL FIVE
Tim Allan – Ormond
Performed with distinction in the U19 rep game against
the VCFL, Tim’s exceptional form continued throughout
the season leading to his Round 13 nomination.
Remarkably, Tim has been named Ormond’s best
player on 6 occasions in 2010 and been in their best 12
times from 17 matches and must be close to a certainty
for their Best and Fairest award this season.
Tom Campbell – Old Scotch
A shining light at Old Scotch this season, Tom
was nominated in Round 17 after a string of top
performances for both his club and the VAFA at U19
and U23 level. A ruckman with a big future, many
AFL clubs have cast their eye over his work and we
could see his name in lights over the summer. Tom was
named in Old Scotch’s best 11 times from 16 matches
which shows both his quality and consistency.
Daniel Nicholson – Uni Blues
Nominated in Round 9 and touted as a possible draft
selection at the end of this season, Daniel has lived up
to the hype in 2010 despite some close checking by
opposition players. Named in the best for the VAFA’s
SHARPSHOOTERS
TOP OF THE CHARTS
U19 and U23 representative matches this season,
Dan had been named in the best for Uni Blues on 7
occasions.
Daniel Noonan – Old Xaverians
Nominated in Round 2, Dan’s exceptional early form
continued throughout the season and he will be a big
part of Old Xaverians’ finals ambitions. Named one of
the best for the VAFA U19 side against the VCFL in
June, Dan has been named in the Xavs’ best 12 times
this season.
Callum Pohl – Old Trinity
Nominated in Round 3, Callum demonstrated his
talent very early in his first season in the VAFA by
being named in Old Trinity’s best in 7 of their first 8
matches. An excellent contributor to the VAFA U19
sides win over the VCFL, Callum finished the season
off well, being in the best in 3 of the last 5 matches and
is certain to feature prominently in the end of season
club awards.
The winner of the 2010 Club Warehouse Rising Star
Award will be announced at the VAFA’s Big Night
Out, Forum Theatre, 13 September.
