A year of transformation, growth and success Admissions Department I. Executive Summary The Admissions Office is responsible for the recruitment and admissions of undergraduate students to the PI. Our team works closely with ADNOC to fulfill students’ scholarship opportunities. In addition to attending to many hundreds of visitors, phone calls and emails requesting information about admissions, we are proactive in attracting prospective undergraduates to the PI. Recruitment is indeed a major function of the Admissions Office. Recruitment efforts include marketing (advertisements and publications), participation at exhibitions, presentations at conferences & seminars, visiting schools, hosting campus visits and holding open days. Processing applications is the other key role of the office. We are responsible for ensuring that each application is correctly completed and forwarding these to ADNOC for final approval. The office then follows up ADNOC’s decisions by communicating with applicants and updating data in the PI’s internal database. The office is also responsible for planning and implementing the Orientation Week for new students and for printing and issuing ID cards for new undergraduates and graduates. II. Highlights for Academic Year 2011-2012 Admissions Fall 2011 The application forms were converted to electronic version this year. An online application form offered a more convenient approach for applicants and was widely accepted. The applications of shortlisted students were sent to ADNOC for final approval and once the verdicts were received, 79
