IV. Current Initiatives
The PR department established new practices
and procedures for various events and activities
at the PI. Some major initiatives include:
• Arranging special tours etc for the
guests visiting the PI from outside the
UAE
• Gifts for PI personnel on special
occasions such as Eid, UAE National
Day, etc.
• Coordinating visits of dignitaries from
UAE
V. Future Plans
The PR department is considering remarkable
and state-of-the-art recreational facilities for
PI students, faculty and staff. Following plans
are being studies to be introduced in near
future:
• “Recreation and Entertainment Village”
– the facility will be situated in front of
the Asab Sports Complex covering an
approximate area of 120x70 meters;
featuring paint ball, carting track, etc.
with changing rooms and refreshing
areas.
• “Student Majlis” – a very unique idea
of majlis, which can host 250 people,
containing various mini-majalis inside
and with TVs, computers, and other
entertainment resources.
• Electric cars (air-conditioned) with
drivers will be available to transport
students and employees across the
campus. The aim is to devise a pollutionfree,
environment-friendly and efficient
way of commuting among various
buildings: the system will be designed in
such a way that commute between Asab
and Arzanah will take only 3 minutes.
• Recruitment/hiring of PR personnel
is key to achieving all the planned
activities. Therefore, it is the priority for
Academic Year 2012-2013.
