Washington in 1950 as an economist with <strong>the</strong> Brookings<br />

Institution, <strong>the</strong>n moved to <strong>the</strong> CIA as chief <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Far<br />

East and <strong>the</strong> West Europe staffs for three years. He <strong>the</strong>n<br />

joined <strong>the</strong> Defense Intelligence Agency's directorate <strong>of</strong><br />

plans and policy, where he served until 1983.<br />

McGeorge Bundy, in "The Dimensions <strong>of</strong> Diplomacy",<br />

1964, noted:<br />

"All 'area study' programs in American universities after <strong>the</strong> war were<br />

manned, directed or stimulated by graduates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> OSS: <strong>the</strong>re is a high<br />

measure <strong>of</strong> interpenetration between universities with area programs and<br />

information ga<strong>the</strong>ring agencies <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> government <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> U.S."<br />

As head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ford Foundation, Bundy was in a position<br />

to know about <strong>the</strong> interpenetration.<br />

The Washington Post, April 21, 1984, noted that <strong>the</strong> CIA<br />

was funneling money to many universities through Air<br />

Force intelligence grants or o<strong>the</strong>r "defense" operations,<br />

including Duke, Stanford, Univ. <strong>of</strong> Texas and many<br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs. The chancellor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Pittsburgh,<br />

Wesley Posvar, had received many Air Force intelligence<br />

grants as a retired Air Force intelligence colonel,<br />

funnelled through Maj. Gen. James F. Pfautz, head <strong>of</strong> Air<br />

Force intelligence. Posvar is a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> German<br />

Marshall Fund.<br />

The CIA has spent millions to fund newspapers,<br />

magazines, and publishers to promote <strong>the</strong> program <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> World Order. Frederick A. Praeger Co. N.Y. an<br />

"emigre" publishing firm, admitted in 1967 it had<br />

published "15 or 16" books for <strong>the</strong> CIA. Many writers and
